DEREHAM AND DISTRICT ANGLING CLUB PERPETUAL TROPHIES


CHALLENGE CUPS AND AWARDS: The club has a number of perpetual trophies. To hold one of these for twelve months the angler must satisfy the following criteria:


  • Any fish qualifying for an award must be caught by fair means and in accordance with Dereham DAC rules, during the period 15 March to 14 March.

  • Must be verified by two responsible persons/witnesses (who are not related to the claimant) whose names and addresses must be supplied with the claim. Second witness not required if Dereham DAC official witnesses fish.

  • The committee have the right to test the scales upon which the fish was weighed and amend the recorded weight if necessary.

  • Entry must be made within 14 days of capture, and any person entering a fish for an award must have been a Dereham DAC member for a minimum of 7 days.

  • The fish must have been caught in the County of Norfolk in a water that is freely available by open club membership, day ticket, or free fishing. Coarse fish caught in Dereham DAC matches may be entered and will qualify.

  • Where two fish of the same weight are entered, the first one entered will qualify.

  • In any dispute Dereham DAC Committee's decision shall be final.


  • CUPS AND TROPHIES: All Dereham DAC perpetual cups and trophies are to be returned by the 1st March each year, to the club's chairman or any of the club's committee members. Minature keepsake trophies shall be awarded to all junior winners.


    SEA ANGLING

  • 2010   The Gallyon Trophy - (Sea Champion Cup).
    To the member having the highest aggregate of points, for fish caught from beach matches that season.
  • Match points; 1st = 6, 2nd = 5, 3rd = 4, 4th = 3, 5th = 2, all other competitors receiving 1 point for attending.

  • 1951   The Tony Aldiss Sea Angling Cup - (Heaviest Aggregate Bag).
    To the member having the heaviest aggregate weight, for fish caught from beach matches that season.

  • 1977   Silver Jubilee Beach Cup - (Heaviest Sea Fish Cup).
    For the heaviest sea fish caught from the beach during that season. Norfolk and Soffolk coast only.

  • 1967   Bert Fanthorpe Sea Cup - (Boat Cup).
    For the heaviest sea fish caught from a boat that season. Norfolk and Suffolk coast only.

  • 1989   Sea Percentage Shield.
    Awarded to the member whose entry, caught in the County of Norfolk of Suffolk only, had the highest percentage of the record for that particular species.

  • 1989   Junior Sea Heaviest Fish Shield.
    For the heaviest sea fish caught that season by a junior member.

  • 1976   Junior Sea Fisherman Of The Year Trophy.
    To the junior member having the highest aggregate of points, for fish caught from beach matches that season.


  • FRESHWATER ANGLING

  • 1957   Senior Coarse Match Championship Cup.
    Points winner on all Club coarse matches through the season.
  • Match points; 1st = 6, 2nd = 5, 3rd = 4, 4th = 3, 5th = 2, 6th = 1. Plus every member receives 1 point for attending the match. Every member who weighs-in receives an additional 1 point. (eg for coming first in a match equates to 6 + 1 + 1 = 8 points). No points for: Friday matches, Saturday matches, Pairs match or Christmas match. Your best 15 matches to count for the Points Cup. Team match results do not count towards Championship trophy.

  • 1976   Junior Coarse Championship Shield.
    Heaviest bag of fish at junior (age 14 and under) matches that season.

  • ????   Ladies Coarse Championship Shield - MISSING.
    To the lady winning this match, open to member's wives, relatives and girlfriends.

  • 1956   Bintree Mill Cup - Presented by R.J. Seaman Esq.
    Awarded to the member having the highest weight of fish at qualifying matches.

  • 1955   The Albert Youngman Freshwater Cup - (Aggregate Cup).
    Awarded to the member having the highest aggregate weight of fish from all matches.

  • 1977   Percentage Cup.
    Awarded to the member whose entry has the highest percentage of the record for that particual species.

  • 1954   Ted Wacey Anniversary Bowl. - (Rose Bowl).
    Awarded to the member having the heaviest net of fish at the opening match.

  • 1966   H.C. Stammers & Co Ltd Challenge Cup - (Groundbait Cup).
    To the member having the heaviest net of fish at this match.

  • 1972   The Rotary Club Cup.
    To the member having the heaviest net of fish at this match.

  • 1950   Senior Pike Cup.
    Awarded to the member catching the heaviest Pike during the season in the County of Norfolk.

  • 1953   Coronation Pike Shield - (Junior Pike Shield).
    Awarded to the junior member, aged 16 and under, catching the heaviest Pike during the season in the County of Norfolk.

  • ????   Bert Fanthorpe Memorial Trophy.
    Awarded to the member having the heaviest weight of fish at a match.

  • 1956   H.C. Fanthorpe Esq Roach Cup.
    For the best Roach caught in the season, other than in private waters.

  • 1972   R.G. Bells Esq Bream Cup.
    For the heaviest Bream caught in Dereham DAC waters during the season.

  • 1973   Bailiffs Tench Cup.
    To be presented to the member catching the heaviest Tench, certified by two reliable persons not related to the claimant, during the season.

  • 1982   Dereham Gun & Tackle Chub Cup.
    Awarded to the member catching the best Chub during the season, in the County of Norfolk. Other than private waters.

  • 1982   Dereham Gun & Tackle Junior Percentage Cup.
    Awarded to the junior member whose entry had the highest percentage of the record for that particular species. County of Norfolk.

  • 1988   Cliff Totterdale - Junior Tench Shield.
    Heaviest Tench caught by a junior member at a Dereham DAC water.

  • 1987   Stan Allison Rose Bowl - (Hospital Charity Cup).
    Awarded to the member with the heaviest weight of fish at that match.

  • 1987   D. Robinson Challenge Cup - (Pairs Match).
    Awarded to the boat pair with the heaviest weight of fish, single member boats not to count.

  • 1984   Boat Cup - (Coarse).
    Awarded to the member catching the heaviest weight of fish during this match.

  • 1993   The F.W. Myhill Challenge Cup.
    Match cup, awarded to the member having the heaviest weight of fish at this match.

  • 1999   The Guymer Memorial Trophy.
    Will be awrded by Dereham DAC committee on recommendation of extant holder.

  • 2010   The Peter Redding Memorial Cup.
    Awarded to the member recording the heaviest Carp caught from Dereham DAC waters that season.

  • 2004   Dereham D.A.C. v Fakenham A.C. (Charity Shield).
    Awarded to the club winning this annual coarse challenge match. [Property of Dereham D.A.C.].

  • 2011   The Lewis Hendry, Pte. Parachute Rgt, Memorial Cup.
    Awarded to the member with the heaviest aggregate weight of Carp caught from the two annaul Carp challenge matches.

  • 2015   Dereham D.A.C. v Mulbarton A.C. (Falcon Cup).
    Awarded to the club winning this annual coarse challenge match. [Property of Mulbaton A.C].

  • 2015   Jack "Curly" Farrier Memorial Cup.
    Awarded to the member with the highest total of points from recorded from the Club�s Friday Evening match series that season. Best five results to count.

  • 2015   Darren Robinson Memorial Pike Championship Cup.
    Awarded to the individual with the heaviest aggregate weight of pike at this "open" pike match.

  • 2015   Dereham and District Angling Club memorial Cup.
    Awarded to the member with the heaviest overall weight of fish at this "charity" match.

  • 2018   Barry Hubbard Memorial Cup.
    Awarded to the member with the heaviest overall weight of fish at this match.

  • 2019   Graham Martin Memorial Cup.
    Awarded to the member with the heaviest overall weight of fish at this match.
